Sport Legacy Foundation supports Somali youth football tournament
Sport Legacy Foundation is working with Birmingham City Council’s Community Coordinators to support a 5 –a- side football tournament on 18th February for 6 teams only that is being held for young Somali men from the Birmingham area. This is an opportunity to bring young Somali men to come together and engage in a positive sporting activity as well as having a safe space to have conversations about challenging issues that they face on a daily basis – a request that has come from the young men themselves.
We will be providing our Sport for Life International coaches and management for the football element of the day. This important activity adds to SFLI delivery of sports and healthy lifestyle coaching programmes, including football, to a number of schools in inner city Birmingham.
We hope to make the evening a fun and engaging few hours for all the young men as well as guests.
