LTA brings Emma Raducanu Trophy Tour 2022 to Sport for Life tennis programme at Waverley School 11th May 2022

We’re taking you back to the summer of 2021 when a history maker was born; the moment British No 1 Emma Raducanu experienced what can only be described as a fairy tale ending to a scintillating season. A moment that will never be forgotten, a moment she shared with an entire nation, a moment that united a nation, and now, Raducanu wants to share this remarkable moment with you.

The LTA teamed up with the reigning US Open Champion herself to take her trophy on a journey across the nation and on 11th May, it was the turn of Waverley School in Birmingham.

More than 50 students at Waverley School enjoyed specialist tennis coaching with LTA and Sport for Life International coaches on May 11th to celebrate British No 1 Emma Raducanu’s U.S. Open victory in 2021.

As part of the morning’s activities students enjoyed a personal welcome from Emma, a short film of her victory and an hour’s tennis with Matt Tew LTA and Mohammed Naeem and Reuben Wilson of Sport for Life.  Students were full of admiration for Emma Raducanu’s achievements and wanted to play more tennis in the future.
