The Core & Co Foundation, https://core-education.co.uk/core-co-foundation is a registered charity set up by CORE Education Trust in 2020 to develop creative partnership programmes for children and young people. The Birmingham based Foundation, with four large academies situated in some of the city’s most disadvantaged areas, has partnered SLF for a long term tennis programme entitled #RaiseMyGame.

Starting in two academies, Rockwood and City, the 27 week per annum coaching was delivered to 80 girls in Years 7 to 10 from 2024 and aims to expand to all four in the next couple of years. Students in each year group receive coaching for an hour per week, initially multisports but gradually focussing on tennis.

Students are encouraged to develop technical as well as social skills and data gathered from all students at the two academies who participated for the first year has been positive, with 95% of students wanting to play more and recognising that tennis is rewarding and fun.
