Sport Legacy Foundation (SLF) runs Sport for Life International and Building Character through Sport as international community education and sports programmes for 8-18 year olds in Birmingham and Bradford Leeds UK and in Barbados and St Lucia in the West Indies.
Aimed particularly at those who are not successful either at school or very often in society, SLF uses the power of sport, especially tennis, cricket and football, to improve the self-esteem of young people and help to ensure positive futures..

Since 2008, SLF programmes have been based at premium destinations with first class facilities including:

– International sport stadiums e.g. Kensington Oval, Barbados, Daren Sammy Cricket Ground, St Lucia, Queen’s Park Cricket Club, Trinidad & Tobago, Mirpur Cricket Stadium, Azad Kashmir, Pakistan
– Sports centres, e.g. Sport for Life International Sports & Cricket Centre, Birmingham UK
– Education centres e.g. Core Education Academies, Birmingham

 

SLF Global Reach

Across the globe, SLF has helped more than 25,300 young people succeed since 2008 including:

UK – Birmingham & Bradford Leeds – more than 20,500 young people.

West Indies – Barbados, St Lucia, Trinidad & Tobago and St Vincent & The Grenadines – programmes engaging with more than 3,800 young people.

Pakistan – Mirpur, Azad Kashmir – more than 1,000 young people in 2010-2012 intervention.

From 2023, Sport Legacy Foundation’s strategy for achieving these aims has been based on

three areas of activity:


*Safeguarding & Child Protection Policy – Sport Legacy Foundation subscribes to UK Government guidelines and publishes its Safeguarding Policy & Child Protection Policy annually.
We define a child as anyone who has not yet reached their 18th birthday. This is in line with the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child and civil legislation in England and Wales. All SLF personnel are Enhanced DBS checked.

**Charity Commission – Sport Legacy Foundation is a CIO regulated charity with the Charity Commission in the U.K. No 1171493, submits annual accounts and follows all advisory procedures.
